Review on 🌀 Suncourt TW208P Hardwired Room to Room Transfer Fan - Variable Speed Wall Mounted Fan with Rotating Grille and Quiet Operation by Stacy Harris

I bought this unit because I needed to duct cool air from my upstairs bedroom into the hallway. My top floor was a 1990's addition and our Cape style home has no ducts or ventilation. We use window air conditioners in the upstairs bedrooms so naturally I figured I should install a flow through fan to direct that cold air out into the hallway. This fan is not powerful enough to work. In fact, I was very disappointed with how weak the engine was. Then it dawned on me. Maybe I can convert the motor to a more powerful one. I went to Home Depot's website and searched for Suncourt. I found this bad 10" Larry Suncourt inductor. Inline fan with power cord and I noticed in the picture that the motor was the same as in the wallbox but with a higher CFM! I bought it for $50. Than it arrived my train of thought was correct! I ripped the motor off the wall fan and inductor and successfully completed the motor upgrade! This bad boy is moving the air now! My hallway has never been so cool! If you use this wall, do yourself do yourself a favor and get a 10" inductor fan and replace the fan motor. A few notes on the replacement. The motor is significantly larger than a wall fan so when you attach the blade to the new motor and put it back into the unit the fan will rub against the wall grille The solution was simple I put both motors side by side to get the length of the blade shaft (the part the blade connects to) to determine the length and I use used a dremel to cut the shaft for the new motor. Fixed it easily. Other than that and a few expletives, it was a breeze (pun intended). Upgrade your engine, it's worth it!
