So glad I can keep using my expensive old mirror! As others have written, the installation is difficult. The sockets holding the old bulb were so tight that the old bulb broke when I tried to remove it. I shook out the fragments and performed the operation. Take a pair of heavy scissors and cut at least half of the clear plastic fasteners in the four places where the new lamp will be (see photo). This creates a more open but still adequate support for the new bulb. Just cut something off, check the fit with the burned out bulb. The new bulb works great, worth the trouble.
