They make wiring a lot easier. I simply strip some of the insulation, then place the wire against the gauge on the side of the nut and trim off the excess bare wire. Voila! The wire is stripped to the desired length. Just put it in the hole and click the lever. Gone is the frustration of choosing the right size wire nut, stripping the wire to the right length, and deciding whether or not to twist the wires before screwing the nut on. Two caveats. . I don't think I would trust them for heavy duty wiring like clothes dryers and similar appliances. When using electric ovens where the wiring can be subjected to higher than normal temperatures, you should always use ceramic wire nuts, which are rated for high temperature applications.
