HP refill toner/toner cartridges are overpriced and do not contain full refill ink. I worked for a plotter/printer ink cartridge manufacturer for 17 years and they were overpriced too. That is the nature of the animal. Sell printers cheaply and fool consumers with cartridges. I don't like it but I need to use my printer so I'll buy them anyway. However, I try to be very conservative and only print when absolutely necessary. I read more online or save them to my computer instead of printing everything out. When I publish my newsletters or brochures, I print at least 6 drafts (12 to 48 pages) during each project. Now I only print one at the very end when the project is almost done and I need to do one last check before posting. I also only email proofs instead of printing proofs for others to see. I also get at least an extra month off my cartridges because when I get the message 'Ink needed' I shake the cartridge every few days until the last drop of toner is gone and it no longer prints. Most people throw away their cartridges before they are actually empty, wasting around 10% of the toner. There are always multiple ways to skin a cat, but I still don't like overpriced ink and toner cartridges. In addition to the high price, the quality of the product is very good.
