Review on πŸ” Enhanced SEO: Amazon Basics Wooden Shape Sorter & Rainbow Stacker Classic Toy Set by Kyle Hoes

Sharp, chipped edges

I thought this would be a cute toy set for my niece and nephew who spends time with me. It comes with ten wooden blocks to fit into the holes on the lid of the storage box, a tower with four rings (a couple of plastic rattles and some wood) and a ball on top, and the storage box has spokes and a wavy shape. Cutout with pin to advance. This is a great idea, lots of fun things for little ones that all fit neatly in the box when finished. However, I was concerned about all the raw wood edges. On the wooden lid where you can place blocks through the shapes, the interior lining of the figures is rough and some of the wood has chipped off after running my finger over the edges of some figures. Seems like they smoothed out and finalized some but not all. There is a wood hole in the sphere that goes to the top of the tower and the wood there is rough and cracking too. I don't think it's safe to give to children, I don't want them to get splinters. I was also disappointed that it arrived so dirty. There were footprints all over the set and it seemed very gritty. It was easy to clean, I just soaked the whole thing in a tub of hot water and dish soap and it cleaned up nicely, but seeing a new toddler toy arrive so dirty was quite frustrating.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Obsolete model
