I was able to get this adapter to work on an HP laptop with an AMD Vega GPU via the USB 3.0 ports until I installed Windows 10 Pro 2020 Fall Release (20H2). which is the case that it broke the adapter driver. To get it working again, I had to go into Device Manager and remove all instances of the USB Extensible Host Controller Interface (or remove everything under Universal Serial Bus Controllers). I also removed the downloaded driver and then rebooted. When the operating system restarts, all the USB controllers are added back, as well as the USB to HDMI adapter, but a driver error occurs. I reloaded the manufacturer's drivers and voila, it's working again. Only four stars because of the time it took me to figure everything out.
