Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Dremel 428-02 Carbon Steel Brushes (2 Pack), 3/4" Diameter: Efficient Cleaning & Polishing Tools by Alex Solano

Expensive but better than alternatives

I have bought several of these types of wire brushes (pots, wheels etc) in steel and brass. Foreign brands, especially those from China, are of very poor quality or non-existent. The individual wires are NOT properly connected to the bracket. This means that the wires fly off the first time you use it. It also means most of the wire is gone before you've even used it on the iron or metal you're trying to clean. the product does not correspond to the length from the shaft. My interpretation of this is that either 1) there is a big difference in wire length, 2) the wire for the shaft holder is correctly shaped, or 3) both problems exist. I'm sick of my work shirts that look like pincushions except the dots stick out in both directions. For me, the Dremel brand lasts 4-5 times longer than the cheap brands. Unfortunately, the unit price of a Dremel wire brush (or any kind) is many times the cost. I use Dremel for durability. for only $4 or $5 for a two-pack. Some companies need to hit the sweet spot and produce a quality device at a reasonable price.

Pros
  • You can also use wire brushes to get an artistic effect on coarse woods
