First of all. I've always wanted to customize my own controller. as a PlayStation gamer RIGHT PASSAGE. and when I saw these gold frames with the actual high-end style option, I knew I had found what I was waiting for. UNFORTUNATELY. I have absolutely NO soldering experience and VERY BIG hands. I'm 6ft 6in and I'm definitely not the best with little tinnnyyyy bolts. Something others call sooooooo easy. was an all day nightmare project for me. I'm sorry to have to downgrade my score to a 2 simply because of the sheer effort it takes to assemble. Not to mention the serious risk if you're new to soldering, which is really the only option. Double sided tape doesn't really work. At least not for me, because every time I tried to connect the front and back of the controller there wasn't enough tape to hold the paddle wiring in place. I try to solder it and burn myself several times. Holding a thousand degree pen is no joke. Unfortunately, the hoops you have to jump through to create your own awesome controller are pretty ridiculous. Sad. It would be really great. Apparently. I completely wrecked my controller by melting down a few key components with solder and throwing it all in the trash in a meltdown frenzy. I want to buy another set. for the last try. But it will probably never come to that. I immediately turned around and bought a ready-made Nacon Pro. and pretty happy with it as far as Xbox Elite alternatives go.
