Review on Viborg LP628B Record Weight Black 60HZ 280G LP Disc Stabilizer Turntable Level Vinyl Clamp HiFi (60Hz by Doug Hawkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wide strobe template

Finally I could compare the look of the strobe dial to the venerable Rec-O-Cut dial I used. While the Viborg patterns indicated I was very slow (this was not confirmed by my ears), the Rec-O-Kut pattern was very stable and was on-the-money at 33 1/3 60 Hz. Viewing the weight from a point at the level of the platter's surface, a lateral rocking was observed that was several thousandths of the deflection about the platter axis that can be felt when holding the weight adjust. The porthole level seems fairly accurate, as does the coarser level I used, but the small bubble on the viborg was hard to spot. The stated weight (I haven't checked) may be a bit light on some LPs, but at least it won't be a problem with the platter bearing. Thanks to CNC milling and black hard coating, it looks very nice, and its profile does not interfere with dust cover. The bag is mixed but inexpensive.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Very expensive

Don't play your LPs without it.
