First off I would like to say what an excellent sound quality this pair has. I've had Beats for a while now and have decided that walking around with oversized headphones isn't practical. I couldn't hold my hair up AND hear the beats at the same time. They were nice because they were the same quality as some cheap Beats headphones - still around $200 - but I was able to use them and didn't feel like my head was wrapped. Secondly, rubber inserts are not suitable for all sizes. Why? The materials the headphones are made of are incredibly fragile. You press lightly with your thumb and forefinger and you can already feel the metal handle underneath. Every time you put them in your ear, instead of a rubber pad, you'll feel a metal earpiece. This creates two more problems: inner ear pain AND ill-fitting earplugs. First, because the earbuds are so cheap and flimsy, when you plug them in, the earbuds do nothing to soften the edges of the earbud. What remains is the constant irritation of the inner ear with the receiver as you struggle to put it back in. After two or three attempts to place them in your ear, you may feel a slight and uncomfortable pain in your inner ear. Second, because the earbuds are so cheap and flimsy, they don't create traction when inserted into the ear. This means that ANY slight movement of the upper body or head weakens them. This really annoyed me as I specifically bought them as a more portable form of Beats over-ear headphones. I was hoping to work with this as most in-ear headphones snap in perfectly, not these. Every time I turn my head to check the brake light they fall out. Every time I look down or up they get weaker. Don't even start bending over to read or grab anything. If you buy these meditation headphones, they are perfect! Bottom line, excellent quality, terribly cheap parts. I bought replacement headphones from another manufacturer and they seem to help a bit. I contacted SOUL and asked if they sell separate earbuds for people with big ears but they said "what you get is what you get". Not surprised but still a little discouraged. Maybe I should try Bose next time.
