First review: Works great, don't understand the bad reviews!

I have a 1400w solar system with a 420ah 12v battery. I was able to run a 1500/3000w inverter to run both a 1500w infrared heater as well as two CFL lamps can be operated with 26 W for a long time without any problems, even with the cables supplied. With more than 160A from the batteries to the inverter, the cables had a voltage drop of about 0.5V, so they got too hot to be considered safe. The user manual mentions that the supplied cable should not be used for high power applications. The supplied cables are designed for 300 W and no more. I measured the conversion efficiency at 1500W, 104W and 52W and the calculated conversion efficiency was 90%, 78% and 70% respectively. When the inverter is on with no load, the efficiency is obviously 0%, so you can see that the efficiency depends on the load. The initial no-load standby consumption was about 0.5A with the inverter on, however, after turning on the 1500W space heater and then removing the load, the standby consumption increased to about 1.5A. However, when the inverter turns on cooled down internally, the standby consumption increased. The no-load current is back to 0.5A. For my permanent configuration, I will make some short 1/0 AWG cables and a 250A ANL fuse for safety reasons. My plan is to launch a 26 cu ft refrigerator, 12 cu ft chest freezer, dehumidifier and entertainment center. Strong cables, solid connections and a high-capacity battery are essential if you want to get the full performance out of this device. If you don't understand the basic law of ohms, find someone who understands and can help you get the most out of this inverter. If I find something that doesn't match the posted spec I'll update my review accordingly, but so far so good. Sincerely, Brad (Retired Electrical Engineer)
