Review on Kenmore 9990 Refrigerator Water Filter by Phillip Ellis

NEVER buy this item online again unless I have to and if so, then it has to be somewhere else. I followed the directions and ran about 4 gallons or more of water through the filter prior to first use, the water appeared clear and smelled nice. On the 4th day after purchasing the filter, when I woke up in the morning and tried to draw water, I found a brown slimy substance in the water. I would love to take a picture of him, but my first thought was to throw the water out in disgust. I bought this filter from Sears and have never had a problem. I don't know where this particular filter came from, but I will never buy another from that source again. I read the bad reviews before buying and figured these buyers must have been disapproved, the product looks legit. If I could return this I would, but now I have to go to my local store to buy another one.
