Review on Slippery Pete Cartridges Flexible Extension by Todd Mamat

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well. Three mistakes!

Purchased to inject Groco Ulube into my boat hull through valves as recommended by the valve manufacturer. The device works well, but there are three issues to be aware of: * Instructions do not match. Groco Ulube lubricant cartridge. The full end of the cartridge has a protrusion that prevents it from being inserted into the pistol. I inserted the cartridge with the air bubble in the cartridge into the butt rather than the full end into the butt, leaving a ridge in the upper part of the gun body. Works.* The label on the cartridge is very firmly attached to the gun body. Luckily, the label is easy to remove from the cartridge.* BEST OF THE WAY: The nozzle, which snaps onto the Zerk fitting, unscrews completely. It is recommended to loosen (partially unscrew) the jet, place it on the Zerk, and tighten the jet on the Zerk. There is no stopper preventing the nozzle from unscrewing completely. If you do this, all the pieces will fall to the ground. All are small. I managed to rearrange the parts and assemble the nozzle. A warning in the instructions would be appropriate. Don't expect this to be a problem after using the gun as the nozzle will then be filled with grease which should hold the nozzle pieces in place even when fully unscrewed.

Pros
  • Grease guns
Cons
  • Obsolete model
