Easy to fix if it leaks at the bottom of the tank

I bought a 2006 Polaris 330 Trail Boss and it had this carburetor. The carburetor was leaking heavily through the bottom of the float bowl. After carefully inspecting the float stem, I bent it up so there was less fuel in the bowl and the needle seated earlier than the fuel entered the carburetor. Fuel is now at a lower level in the tank and will not spill out of the overflow pipe in the tank. The bike now runs perfectly. Just a note.
