Review on 🎧 ECS WordSlinger USB Transcription Headset by Joseph Mathis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Lots of volume. accepts computer headsets

I became a freelance court correspondent more than thirty years ago, and all these years later I still handle my own court clerkships. These headphones really help to eliminate noise, interference etc from recordings and actually add a lot of bass to the voice. They are easy to use, just plug in the USB port and you're good to go. You can actually turn the volume up A LOT so be careful the first time you plug it in - ha! For example, when I first tried them, I had such a lousy record that I cranked the volume up to 100 percent on all fronts. I plugged them in and at 18% volume they were MUCH louder than my other headphones. I do have an issue with them though, and maybe it's unique to me only that I can't wear them for more than a few minutes at a time (and very few) as my ears are starting to hurt. . Maybe it's the interaction of the headphones with my glasses, but I don't think so. You just damaged the cartilage in my ears. So I only use them to decipher my slurred words when I start reviewing and I can eliminate a lot of them with these headphones. I can't use them all day every day though, not consistently. FYI I'm using them with FTR Gold software but don't know why they don't work with anything. It's USB only, although I think it installs some drivers when it's first plugged in.
