Review on White Modular Phone Jack with Surface Mounting Option by Jeff Jackson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap, poor quality, the cable doesn't make contact with the pins.

This is a copy of an old Bell type telephone socket. Can be used with legacy twisted pair up to CAT-5 cables by simply connecting 4 screw terminals for ferrule and ring, red, green, black and yellow etc. It terminates with a standard RJ-11 connector. The problem I had was that the RJ-11 connector is of such poor quality that the pins don't make contact with the phone cord. The phone cord actually goes in and out about 3 millimeters. My phone fits snugly into other phone jacks, so it's not my cord. In summary, without electrical contact, the phone does not work and is therefore useless. It is too expensive. Big stores, mom and dad hardware stores have better quality for about the same price. It's a piece of junk. Do not buy.
