I have posted some pictures of the flags attached to my motorcycle trunk. The box is painted aluminum and I believe 3M VHB (Very High Adhesion) tape which in my experience has held up incredibly well in all weather conditions and over logarithmic time periods in the past. I know a guy who used VHB tape to attach his solar panels to the roof of his RV; tied securely, they haven't moved in 2 years so I'm sure everything will be fine. The quality of the materials seems reasonable, they are crisp and clean. Very happy so far and will most likely buy another set for my truck. I've included a photo to show the relative thickness of the surface mount.
