If your cats are smart, active and playful with toys, this is not for you. I had high hopes for her. Both of my cats love scratching sofas and I was sure this would be the solution. I ordered them in different sizes and they worked fine for about a month. Then my cats started scratching and chewing on the plastic. It wasn't that bad because I'd rather let her play with it than the couch. But soon after, they started chewing and playing with the screws. I found them all over the house, some disassembled. As soon as I replace one of the screws, they pull it out again. I even tried sealing the screws with tape. So I decided to remove the shields from the furniture, worried that they would accidentally swallow the screw while playing. I might try reattaching the scratch guard with the double sided cat tape I've seen instead of screws. But for now it seems like a waste of money.
