Great monitor for programming
I'm a software developer and I have two of these devices on my Mac at home. They offer plenty of space and a clear display for daily reading/writing of texts. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who consumes a lot of media (although it's HD, the display isn't really that special) but for a regular work device they're definitely excellent.
