Review on MSI Optix MAG274QRF Gaming Monitor: Adjustable, 2560X1440, 165Hz, High Dynamic Range by Fred Hawk

Great monitor - there are a few things to look out for but no real issues

So far it's looking great. I promised everything and more. Haven't seen any dead pixels or anything like that yet. The native resolution is actually 3840 x 2160 (4k) due to scaling, so this is a really nice feature that I wasn't expecting. A whopping 165Hz at 2k, although there's no 144Hz mode, which is a bit unfortunate. I got this monitor to play high refresh rates of 1440p on my new RTX3080 and it does its job flawlessly on Doom and Elden Ring. My other monitor is an HP25mx with 144Hz and 1080p resolution. I also like that the base of the monitor is very heavy so it doesn't wobble at all, and it comes with DisplayPort, HDMI, and another display cable that I don't even know what it is. When you look at reviews, like me, you are looking for questions about a product. So these are my problems now. Brightness. It's not the worst, but it definitely can't be as bright as my HP25mx I use with it. If you need a very bright monitor, this is not the right choice, but it is sufficient for almost all purposes. LEDs are basically useless. It's not really an issue, just not exactly what is well designed. Rotation. This monitor can be rotated to portrait mode and can be rotated in either direction. However, there is no sweet spot; The only way to make sure the monitor is level is to use a bubble level yourself. Menu navigation button. It's on the back of the monitor on the right hand side, which is very inconvenient compared to the buttons on the bottom of my HP25mx. I can't stand this monitor on its left side even if I wanted to, but other than that it works great. In principle, all the disadvantages are minor, so I can highly recommend this monitor.
