The color is very similar to that in the photo. This is a darker gold than the LV hardware (e.g. LV bag charms and snap hooks are lighter gold). Antique gold looks flattering on brown monogrammed canvas, but I also think "regular" gold would look just as flattering and would most likely blend perfectly with LV hardware. If you need this 26 toiletry bag chain, please note that due to the size of the o-ring, the zipper will open about 2 inches when used as a shoulder strap. The o-ring is much larger than the links themselves, measuring 1 1/4 inches in diameter. When the chain is worn as a shoulder strap, the O-ring faces up and causes the zipper to open 2 inches. If you just let the chain hang from the front of the bag like a bag hanger and hold the bag with your hand you will NOT have this problem as the o-ring will not go up when hanging down the chain dangles and a shoulder strap to the o- ADD ring, you will encounter the same problem again as the o-ring will be raised by the added shoulder strap. Regardless, this isn't a deal breaker for me. I use 1 o-ring to thread my hanging vachetta tongue zipper through so the hanging zipper lays flat on the side of the bag instead of sticking out, but for the side that keeps opening I buy a smaller and narrower o-ring and , hope it works. I don't think it can be prevented entirely, but if it unzips less, I'll be glad. T The location of my D-rings on my bag organizer is just below the zipper, so there's no escaping it.
