Living in Hawaii a few years ago I became an aficionado of the local coffee available there and have been buying my favorite blends and making my own K-Cups with SimpleCups (seems to be discontinued) for years. Although I was able to make K-Cups with SimpleCups, they consisted of three parts (body, filter, and lid) that had to be assembled during the K-Cup making process. The hardest part was the lids, which were difficult to install on the K-Cup. I bought a small (48) pack of iFillCup and started making a batch of K-Cups. First, the iFillCup is an integral part of the filter, which is an integral part of the body, and the lid, which attaches to the hinge area so it can be rotated on the body after filling. Next point was that the iFillCup lid was easy to close compared to my experience with SimpleCups, my wife had trouble putting lids on SimpleCups but there was absolutely no problem with iFillCups. It took me less than 10 minutes to prepare 20K cups with the iFillCup system, while simple cups took almost twice as long for the same task. I saw another reviewer have an issue with the cost of iFillCups compared to pre-made store-bought K-Cups. I would like to counter this with my experience, which contradicts this assumption. I buy coffee from the Kona Coffee Company in Hawaii for 8 ounces. A bag of ground coffee costs $9.99. With their coffee pack, I was able to make 20,000 cups with iFillCups, which equates to a cost of $0.50 coffee (rounded up) per K-Cup made. Using the $16.99 cost for 48 units of iFillCups, this equates to a cost of $0.36 (rounded) for each individual iFillCup. So each finished K-Cup costs $0.86 (if you buy a 288-unit iFillCup box for $67.99, a single iFillCup costs $0.24 and a finished product costs $0.74 -Dollar). The Hawaiian Isles Kona Coffee Company sells some of their coffee in pre-made K-Cups for $10.99 for a 10-serving box ($1.10 per serving) or an 80-serving box for $79.99 (US1 dollars per serving). My savings with the iFillCup system range from $0.24 to $0.36 per serving compared to a prepackaged 80 serving package from the Hawaiian Isles Kona Coffee Company. Result: 1. Easy to use2. Ability to use the coffee I want3. Actual cost savings4. I just ordered a pack of 288 iFillCups after my experience with the smaller pack.
