Why can't anyone make them more durable?

First, they work great, just as well as branded clubs. They also have the same abysmal durability (dark roller) as OEM. A gray roller literally lasts for years, but a darker one becomes smooth and dirt-free on my low Berber rugs within a month of daily cleaning. I know this because I was so taken aback by this design flaw for several years that I experimented. I clean the rubbish bins with a powerful whole-house vacuum cleaner, which also replaces the fine filter inside. I can empty the bin, run it the usual 50 minute route with the old bare roller, then tip the bin onto the newspaper, clean the filter, replace the roller with a new one and run it for another 50 minutes (yes , I've replaced the woeful OEM battery with a better one (lithium) and the amount obtained in the second run of the same living/dining room is much greater than the bare roller run I've had plenty of phone calls and emails with wasted to the folks at Roomba and they didn't help and acknowledged that the dark role is naked and the lighter one was NOT purposely designed to give them a steady income, that way they work just as well as OEM and cost a lot less , thus increasing the number of days I live on this earth (because I don't have to waste time hating OEM for their business model. Original question: Why doesn't anyone have ei ne dark roller made more durable?
