At first I was confused as to how a teardrop shaped curling iron could differ from a regular round wand. Judging by the photos the shape was still mostly round and I had no idea what to expect. Well, if you want to achieve beautiful beachy waves, this tool will do it for you. I often had trouble creating nice textured waves with my regular round curling iron, which I often had to add to my styling products just to work on the texture. But this teardrop wand really does what it says on the tin and I really like it. I received several compliments the day I styled my hair with this wand. Beachy waves versus regular curls make a big difference. The only thing I will regret about this tool is that it takes a little longer to heat up and there is no digital screen to show the temperature. I'm a modern woman and I expect more than a simple watch face. The light will flash while heating up and then stay solid when ready. I'd also like to add that it's comfortable to hold and style AND that it's lightweight which is a big plus for me as I love to take a good curling iron with me when I travel and don't want my bag to be too heavy. If you want nice beachy waves I recommend this stick from Remington. For a $20 styling tool, you can get professional results without spending a lot of money.
