The materials used appear to be much stronger (maybe they use a thicker metal gauge or harder metal, IDK) than other, cheaper brands of perforated panels. Plus, the screw-in feature helps ensure I don't accidentally knock the pencil hook and any tools it holds off the pencil and into the gap between my workbench and the wall. I also have a few spots on my rubber that normally can't be used because the holes on the rubber are flush against the board (yes I had to use spacers). These allow me to use the underside of the BAU hook and then screw it into board after board for tying and free up some of that unused space. Even where I just screw into the holes in the perforated plate, the hook feels very secure and stable.
