Short version: Don't take this. Get the "Package Killer" instead. So why? I recently bought "The Ultimate Gaff Deck Kit" from Magic Makers because it comes with a deck of assorted gaffs and an instructional DVD. It sounded great! But is it? Here are the good, the bad, and the ugly: 1. THE GOOD IS THE DECK. Buying pack effects individually is expensive, and the advantage of the Ultimate Gaff Deck Kit is that it contains a complete deck with a very good collection of tricks that allow you to use a wide range of the most popular pack effects like the wild card be able . , MacDonald's Aces, Color Monte and Ultimate 3 Card Monte. There are also several doubles and doubles. So as for the cards themselves, you already have most of the cards you need to perform many different gaff tricks.2. BAD VIDEO. The deck comes with an accompanying DVD that provides introductions and tutorials on 13 different tricks: change color of entire deck, change color of a card, 50 50, merge magic cards, follow the leader, crazy aces, chase the ace, queens vanish . Wild, Fleeing Queens, Trading Kings, Money Monte and Itsy Bitsy Spider. It features the magician Chris Newling and the quality is extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the negative comments in other reviews are pretty accurate. The DVD appears to be a poor homemade attempt at teaching magic, similar to how a kid creates a card trick tutorial on YouTube. Chris doesn't bring much passion, his performances aren't inspiring at all, things aren't always explained clearly and there are a lot of verbal stutters that could easily be remedied with a double take. Very unpolished and mediocre at best.3. DANGEROUS - NAMES. Most tricks are already known effects, but are taught with slight variations and have different names. A prime example is Itsy Bitsy Spider, which is similar to Jim Pace's The Web effect (including using a spider trick), but overcomplicates the processing by adding an extra card and doesn't improve things at all. . Most of the time Chris handles the effects in his own way, but calling them other names seems a bit inappropriate when it's clearly a collection of classics like MacDonald's Aces (= Follow the Leader), Ultimate 3 Card Monte (= Chasing Ace Plus) , Wild Card (= Running Queens), Twisted Sisters (= Trade Kings) and Colored Monte (= Money Monte). If you're new to learning these classic effects, it's probably best to stick with the original versions, despite the appeal of getting a gaff deck that gives you the cards you need to complete them all, and a tutorial DVD. While I was happy with the deck, overall I was disappointed with the product and cannot recommend it. Instead I would recommend getting the Packet Killer which also comes with a deck of various gaffs but has a fantastic tutorial DVD. with Simon Lovell. This video is much better and uses custom names and routines for classic effects. This is usually a similar price but clearly a superior product. - DIVINE GADS
