Used to replace the factory under hood heat shield on a tuned VW turbocharged engine. The OEM heat shield did the job (I thought) but was rusty and sagging. After moderate driving, the hood feels very warm. After intense driving in the sun, the bonnet stays cool with this new reflective heat shield. I was speechless at the difference such a thin layer could make. Very easy to cut with a utility knife and was large enough for my use. It is highly recommended that the surface to be protected be thoroughly cleaned with soap and then isopropyl alcohol. I wouldn't trust pressure sensitive adhesives to stay in place. Before applying, apply a few coats of 3M spray/heat resistant adhesive to the surface and they will stick like a charm! I didn't notice any change in engine noise, although road noise may have played a role. Highly recommended!
