Review on Front Left Door Lock Actuator Motor - Replaces 69120-30010, 6912030010, 8973510850 - APDTY 133930 by Steven Ross

I bought 3 and all 3 failed. Bought for my 2002 Prius. Both front doors stopped locking within a few months so I bought two. The first was damaged in transit. The packaging was flimsy, the mounting bolt broke off. I glued it back on and installed anyway and it worked for a week before freezing. Assuming it was damaged internally in transit I bought a spare and one for the other door. Both failed in the same way. The lever is locked and prevents the locking mechanism from moving. I took one apart and found the problem was that the gears inside were spinning too hard and getting stuck. Maybe he should have had something to stop him from whining. Maybe it shouldn't run on 12 volts. Maybe it was just an unfortunate copy that didn't work on the Prius.
