If you're not an electronics guy, don't walk away from this. run as fast as you can Bought 4 of these devices. When assembled correctly, they usually make very good little voltage converters. Of the 4 units, 1 was a really good working unit. Of the other three, one worked when first turned on and then slowly stopped working due to a poor quality trimmer whose value fluctuated with temperature. The other three would fail at a higher current load because the power supply (triac) was not mounted on the heatsink. If you like electronics this is a good set of parts to get you working as intended.
