Review on LG 29WK600 W 29 inch UltraWide Monitor, 2560X1080P, Adjustable, ‎29WK600-W by Minas Patterson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

HDR mode is a joke and not supported on Mac, but still a decent monitor.

Strongly disappointed. I got the monitors after hearing good reviews from multiple sources (most of them were PC-based, to be honest) and bought them for my base 2017 27-inch Imac. Well to be honest I knew these monitors weren't going to be 5k and I didn't expect them to match the resolution but the colors were far off and even at full brightness they could match the brightness of my imac at half brightness not reach . I spent the better part of two days tweaking the settings and changing or sculpting in every way that my Imac monitor far outperformed it in color, brightness and resolution. Switching media or applications from the Imac to the monitors (I bought two of them) was an instant visual drop at every level, not just brightness or resolution. Well, to be honest, the monitors themselves aren't bad at all, and looking back, comparing $230 monitors on a $1,800 Imac versus a 5k monitor isn't exactly a fair comparison, and I overlooked it myself . It's just that my Imac monitor is such a great monitor, pretty much anything close to that would be a noticeable downgrade unless I spent over a thousand dollars on additional monitors (I needed two of them). Can I recommend this monitor? Yes, IF YOUR PC is gaming on a budget then sure. But for mac.i I would spend more for better monitors (with native USB-C support that doesn't)
