Since I bought my first pair of Koss in 1969, I've owned about a dozen high-quality on-ear headphones. Whilst I have always preferred neutral and accurate sound reproduction, the gradual decrease in hearing acuity prompted me to purchase the slightly brighter yet quality sound reproduction of Crossfade 2. What a deep listening pleasure after 14 months of use! These are very well designed and durable headphones that have held up to my occasional sloppiness (drops, spills, sweating, etc.). The surprise was the amazing Bluetooth signal/sound quality, especially for the music I choose: the most modern jazz. It took me a while to get used to the fit, but they were surprisingly comfortable and stable while always maintaining a soft and firm grip. even when I was training on a cross trainer. For now I have decided to use them primarily as training cans with the intention of purchasing a few M-200 models. Highly recommended. I wrote the above review shortly after purchasing the Crossfade II. I never bought a pair of M-200s. I am changing my rating to 1 STAR. Today - February 17, 2021 - I gave up V-Moda. Here's my report: Sometime in mid-2019, while removing the V-Moda headphones, one of the arrow-shaped plastic tips at the base of my headband broke and came loose. After inspection, I settled on superglue, which held. Applying the hint, I noticed that the plastic tip was connected to the strap's metal headband with plastic nubs. Not good, but since the glue stuck, I kept using the headphones. THEN, last December (2020), the plastic tip broke again, this time forever. This is where the disappointment with the V-Moda headphones began. Thinking I could contact V-Moda for a repair or other advice, I used my account password and requested repair service. Reply: V-Moda will NOT repair headphones after the warranty period has expired. Even if I were willing to pay for repairs (which I did). However, I was informed that I could use my IMMORTAL LIFE warranty and trade in my Crossfade 2 Wireless Adapter for 20% off a new pair of my choice. After considering the options, I declined. my reasoning? While V-Moda headphone straps may look sturdy, holding them together with plastic grommets significantly reduces the lifespan of the earbuds. To date I have successfully used Scotch Super 33+ tape to hold up my headphones because the speakers still work perfectly. But I understand that this is not the best long-term solution. I now buy comparable headphones with a seller guarantee that also offers a lifetime repair. In my opinion, $300 audiophile headphones should last more than three years.
