Very impressive quality for a "fake "

Looks like a clone/fake 2017-2019 Honda Civic Type R FK8 Shift Knob (54102-TGH-A00) that costs over $90 at the dealer. at a Honda employee/business partner/friend discount. Thread size M10-1.5 as indicated in the name of this product. Honda uses the M10-1.5 for their MT shift knobs. If you have a Honda that was made in the last 30++ and if it has an MT, its M10-1.5 and this shift knob will suffice. The quality of this item is very high for what it is. I'm a mechanical engineer and I assemble about 3-4 custom Honda transmissions each month that I ship to customers. I bought this thinking it would be a good and affordable 6MT conversion solution that I put together for a customer who is converting his 2008 Acura TL Type S from automatic to 6 speed manual just to at least have it , there is something that needs to be moved, which I bought for him. "However, I was so impressed with the quality that I decided to order another one myself. I see some of you complaining about the lock nut that comes with it. I noticed that it's 17mm wider than the usual 14mm that Honda typically uses for their M10 mounts. I reused those on my Accord (90310-ST7-Z00) but any M10 1.5 nut will do. -- I also see some of you complaining that this shift knob is not 100% perfect. I can't help but wonder what you really expect from a part that costs 80% less than its original counterpart.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Easy repairability
