Longer screws required. A shelf fell off the wall with my cat on it and a short screw stuck in a stud. The other shelf that is still hanging on the wall has a longer shelf screw, but I need to buy longer screws for the other shelf. I'll pull another short screw out of the shelf that's still hanging on the wall and replace it just in case. Do not use the screws provided with this shelf. Purchase double length screws and insert one side/screw into the wall stud. Sigh. Other smart cats liked it. Update: Longer metal studs and drywall screws have arrived. work much better
