My cats love cardboard scratching posts. I replaced a scratching post I have on the basement stairs that was in tatters. This scratching post has a similar wavy shape which they seem to like a lot compared to the flat scratching post. Something about it really allows them to stretch out their claws. They'll dash up and down the stairs like cats normally do, stopping to let off some of the cat's stress and energy on the scratching post along the way. If you haven't tried these cardboard scratching posts yet, I highly recommend them. Cardboard and twine scratching posts are my cats' favorite items. They really save my furniture and carpet. Cardboard will shed a little as cats wear it down, but not that much. I can keep things under control by vacuuming weekly. The cardboard is very thick and can withstand rough handling. It's denser than the flat scratching posts I usually find at pet stores. Amazing price! Very happy with it!
