I've been looking for a hard-wearing and completely waterproof jacket for a long time. I've had PVC jackets that tear easily and fancy high-tech raincoats that leak after heavy rain or just after a wash. . However, this thing looks like it will pass the test. It's made of a rubberized fabric that appears to be very tear-resistant. It weighs about 2 pounds, which is fine when I'm not backpacking. It looks well made and very stylish.
