I was very impressed when it arrived as it appears to be very heavy, excellent quality and finish. How is it pulled up and if I had to be careful the winch doesn't slip and the boat slides back but the little lever on the left (my second picture) is very easy to operate and allows the winch to be used one way in any direction just in front of one heavy load course consider. It's also 2-speed, so you get a different boost in torque. Simply remove the handle from any of the small or large gears etc and twist it as it comes up. for me as my boat is very small but I would probably go with the metal cable version for a larger boat. Overall, everyone liked the quality and ease of use, and it easily does the job.
