Got this as a surprise for my husband as his bedside lamp was too small and not adjustable but he is not the type to replace a well working item. I wanted something functional and offered a masculine counterpoint to my bedside lamp, which is a wooden shape with aged gilding and a matte black shade. That's great. It looks clean and modern but offers just enough retro-industrial touches to stand out, it goes well with our masculine/feminine bedroom and most importantly, it goes really well with it in terms of functionality. It's not a crazy setting, but it's definitely enough to provide comfort and a good reading angle. He's particularly pleased with the USB port on the base, which eliminates the need to stash the phone charger on the bedside table. Two things to note: I assembled the lamp fairly easily, but ran into a small snag. : The wire running the full length of the arm was too long and I had about 6 inches of excess wire wrapped in fabric preventing me from attaching the arm to the base. After some digging I found that I could remove the felt cover from the base and unscrew the bottom plate (small crosshead), which allowed me to feed the wire through and just collect the excess in the base. Gathering stuff from the internet Another thing is that in all of the product photos and in many of the photos that the reviewer has posted, the power switch is a toggle switch at the base of the lamp, while ours is a button on the top of the lampshade. No big deal, but puzzling at the moment! identical to product photos.
