Bought this camera on a whim just before we go to the caribbean where we will be doing a lot of snorkeling. It comes with a small getting started guide stating that you can get full instructions on their website. This is not possible from a boat and unfortunately the buttons and controls are not intuitive at all. Worse, the camera failed after 20 shots. It didn't leak water, but it stopped showing the image on the screen, stopped taking pictures and, strangely enough, didn't turn off. The screen shone in a dim, blank light with no image, menu options, or instructions. I had to take the batteries out to turn it off and when I put them back in I got the same faint glow. New batteries did nothing. I was able to upload pictures and some of them were fine. I think with more practice this would be sufficient for simple underwater shots and is fun - if only it would work. The packaging said not to return to seller but to contact Vivitar directly for assistance. I haven't done it yet but I'd rather get my money back than leave this bad device.
