This is a great radio for the price. It's not perfect, it's not a tank, and it's not a full-size rig (it maxes out at 20W), but for a sub-$500 transceiver it's a decent, budget-friendly alternative to pricier units in this weight class. excellent, roughly rivaling (though not better than) my Icom HF setup. The speaker sounds great. At my booth, the transmit power was exactly what the radio said, and was as high as 1 watt, a power level that some stations get imprecise and noisy. The signals transmitted over the online SDR when received are excellent, easy to understand and the signals are clear/on channel, avoiding the pitfalls of some other Chinese shortwave sets which are sometimes a bit "fat" in SSB.
