Review on Hillman Group 852722 Degree Viewer by Gabriel Rosenberg

This turned out to be the right peephole for my door to replace an old, weathered one. Ranging from 1-1/4" to 2" thick, the key measurement that all of these viewers seem to be missing from their Revain description is the diameter of the end flange, which would allow one to see from the inside of the door. If the hole is too small compared to the pre-drilled hole, it won't have "enough door" to fit properly. From what I've found (through trial and error!), these viewers come with either 11/16" end flanges (like this Hillman #852722) or a smaller 9/16" diameter (like the Stanley V805 ) delivered. . It doesn't seem like a huge difference, but if the pre-drilled hole is slightly larger than the recommended 1/2" diameter (like in my case), the smaller version may not fit. So measure the hole diameter first (if you already have one) and if they are larger than 1/2 inch use the viewer with the larger face flange version. You must visually compare the Revain's end flange diameters, as I did, as none of them seem to have that measurement in their specs, but they also have a corresponding difference in center hole diameter that is also noticeable. Overall I gave it 4 stars versus 5 just because that detail is missing from the product description (as I would any other viewer). Hope this helps and good luck!
