Review on πŸ“Ά Intel Wireless-AC 9260, 2230, 2x2 AC+BT, Gigabit (Non-VPro) by Dan Olsen

Reliable as expected from Intel

At first I had a Killer Wifi 1535 in my Dell XPS 15 (9570) and it was awful. When booting the computer for the first time, the connection always lasted a good minute. Once connected, it tended to lose signal despite being literally within range of the router. Also, the connection speed varies greatly. Sometimes it was fast and sometimes blatantly slow; You just never knew what you were going to get in terms of consistency (download/upload speed and stability). On the other hand, this Intel card just works. It's usually an issue with Intel WiFi cards, of course the newer ones have a slightly updated version of Bluetooth, or the range has been increased a bit, or the download and upload speeds have been increased, but bottom line it's just how it works and works as it should. Great job by Intel in providing hardware at a competitive and very fair price (at least as far as their WiFi cards are concerned, this is debatable for their other products).

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Not bad but...
