I use firewood to heat my 1800 m². feet by circulating a mixture of hot water and antifreeze through 10 radiators, one in each room. Each radiator has one of these fans connected to a wall thermostat. To reduce noise in some rooms I used a 1.5 ohm 10 watt resistor. The great thing about these fans is that they are reversible; So on some rads I'm pulling air into the room and on other rads I'm pushing air through the rads into the room. Depending on the design of the louvers, the blade can easily be turned over for more air movement. However, because these fans are exposed to heat 24/7, the bearing can dry out, causing the motor to stop spinning. Lubricating the bearing behind the blade is easy, but to get to the bearing at the other end a small hole needs to be drilled. That being said, these fans are extremely reliable despite the odd bearing damage.
