These chalk boxes (chalk lines) work as advertised. I am a contractor and have used IRWIN chalk boxes for many years. While you might pay more for fancier chalk boxes, they get the job done. They fail no more than any other brand. Keep them dry and the chalk won't clog. All chalk boxes eventually break and end up in the trash, so don't waste your money on a more expensive model. I recently bought a few more of these IRWIN chalk boxes and wanted to color code them to indicate what color of chalk was inside (red and black). I decided to paint them in honor of musician Eddie Van Halen. Now they stand out from everyone else in the workplace and can be seen from afar.
