The description mentioned it was for big cats, I think they meant adults. I have 12lb and 10.5lb cats, not overweight, just large (typical American homeless person), the top had to be modified slightly to make the opening suitable for a higher entry. This device is compact and very easy to assemble. However, please check yours frequently to ensure even the tightest of pipes aren't leaking! This happened twice so I wiped the ends of the candles and put them back. For now this solved the problem. Not a single cat touched the scratching post, which was an important accessory in my purchasing decision. In addition, the toy did not find much use either, although they are very playful kittens. To be honest I think I could just use an old cloth box and they would scratch and hide and be happier but alas the aesthetics! The rest is OK. Not very impressed but my kids were happy to give the cats a place. The fabrics aren't very plush, although the "cat bed" feels soft. It definitely brings a lot of profit. If you know how to sew, I recommend buying some PVC pipe and elbows, grabbing some raffia yarn, fabric, and batting, and attaching your favorite toy, which you can easily make yourself for pennies. Would return it if my kids weren't so excited when they picked it up and (easily) participated in the build.
