Review on KVP Bird Collar 3 5 4 Diameter by Denise Kirkeby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good collar all around.

So after reading the reviews and my own experience this is a good collar in short. Tip: Start with 2. Brought my Indian collar to the animal emergency room and even the vet said he likes this collar better because of the clips. He injured his leg and recovered, but when he took a 20-minute bath and loosened the dry scab, he got even worse. He kept picking at his dry crust and losing a lot of blood. Anyway I ordered this collar and he hated it and I couldn't take the screams and his fights. I took him to the vet, he took the collar and kiwi and sent me away for the rest of the day. He's returned and he's calm, like a kitten getting used to him. The vet warned me that he would chew and bite off chunks, so I came up with my own solution. I cut off a piece from the hem of the T-shirt, sew on the foam rubber (or its scraps to give softness) and put it back on. No problems or bleeding in the neck. This is a mini project for him that takes about 5 or 6 days before he destroys the top of the shirt (the rest of the shirt is underneath on his neck feathers) and then I switch it to the collar I made. sewn over a new piece of t-shirt edge. So I'm shooting. Anyway, I might just order 2 more to have a backup because it's slow to heal, but it's healing anyway. So far this has worked for me. I also give him Avitech AviFlax Gold instead of food (I need to find a replacement, he recently went out of business). He used to start picking feathers and stop. Also, he likes to take 20 minute baths under the kitchen faucet by himself every 2-4 days because he's itchy, and I've found that the vitamins and baths have helped him stop his feather plucking. But until the leg heals, no baths yet.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
