Pros: Appears to be well made so hopefully it will last a while. The plastic feels thick and appears to be of good quality. Ugly seams are not visible. The colors are beautiful and bright. Children love taking eggs out and putting them back in. Cons: They creak, but that's pretty pathetic unless you hit them. I would compare the sound to a wheel squeaking or two plastic objects rubbing against each other. It's not cute, like a "squeaky" chicken. The clasp on the front is a bit difficult for the little ones to open. Normally we have to open it for you. You usually open it, hold it tight and unlock it with difficulty. When they open it, the eggs and spikes will scatter everywhere. Also, the hinges on the back don't look like they'll last that long, meaning they're going to fall apart everywhere. (See photo). Overall: I like the pedagogical idea, but this particular product still needs some work. I would probably buy this brand again as it is of good quality. However, I would probably not recommend this item to anyone. (I think traditional color blocks with a box of matching holes are better for learning, less messy, and more durable.)
