Review on AEM 30 0301 X Series Pressure Gauge by Matt Woodward

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It was probably necessary to buy a mechanical and upgrade to a copper.

I already had an AEM UEGO broadband adapter installed in my car. I chose this one despite all the negative and mediocre reviews. I figured I'd just get a guarantee and roll the dice. Don't do what I did. The sensor worked fine the first time, the second time driving the car the readings were very low. I checked the voltage at the sensor and the signal wire. The pressure gauge is connected correctly, but the sensor voltage is not equal to eight. I called AEM tech support who told me to remove the sensor and test it at different pressures. So now I have to REMOVE a BRAND NEW PART, dig out my compressor and attach it to the compressor just to see if they replace something or let me jump through other hoops. It is too much. Time for something I should have foreseen. Although it looks really good there. Update: I hooked up a pressure gauge to my air compressor and tested various pressures according to AEM Tech Support. I started at 80psi and depressurized to check every 20psi, finally I checked 10 and 5psi. The sensor was very accurate even though it was outside of the specified range. That's why I only upgraded it to 3 stars. If you have the opportunity to test the sensor before installing it, do so. Unfortunately, since the gauge is accurate, my engine is probably fried.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Security
