Good. According to the instructions, assembly takes about 20 minutes, for me it probably took 5 minutes for one shelf. The sticks are made of plastic and you just twist everything together. If you ever change your mind about the color, simply take the piece of wood apart and flip it over for a black and white shelf. We love them, they don't look cheap at all but are very sturdy.
