I've been using the 3" BedStory Memory Topper for almost two months. Before I started using it, I had back pain caused by a recent move. Bought a new bed with a very hard mattress and had trouble sleeping due to back pain. I took another reviewer's advice and bought a 3 inch topper, which seems to be the minimum thickness for an adult. This worked really well for me and gave me enough cushion on a mattress that was too hard. I haven't had a problem with permanent dents so far, but I don't weigh that much so I'm not sure how well it will handle the extra weight. As for the odor normally associated with foam mattresses, I did not notice any strong odor from this pad. I remember it smelled slightly when I first opened it, but I followed the directions and left it on for a few days before putting it on my bed. I haven't noticed any smell since then. Also, it is heavily compressed and takes a few days to return to its original state. Overall, I'm happy with the 3-inch BedStory memory foam mattress topper and would recommend it for extra comfort.
