Review on ๐Ÿ’จ ID-COOLING IS-30: High Performance Low Profile Cooler for Mini-ITX with Slim Big Airflow Fan and AM4/LGA115X Compatibility - TDP 95W by Jason Dahlkemper

Revainrating 1 out of 5

READ FIRST: Great heatsink and low profile ITX form factor, sluggish fan, fancy brackets

Bedroom with AM4 ITX motherboard and AMD Ryzen 3800XT processor (yes, not the lowest powered processor, but either he is, or the much older AMD A8). Let's move on to the pros and cons of this heatsink: Pros: Great low profile design with multiple heat pipes. Pros: Can cool AMD 3800XT. no core shutdown or eco mode operation (<65W) but comes with Arctic F9-92 fan replacement (read on) Pros: Nice simple mounting mechanism (mounts to bottom of panel) Cons: Fan on is noisy, no static pressure . I fixed it by replacing it with Arctic F9. The problem is solved! Cons: The fan is attached to the heatsink with tiny screws (like the tiny M2 screws you use to attach an SSD drive). which can make it difficult to use alternative fans, but I replaced the screws and installed the Arctic F9 with no problem. Cons: The mounting mechanism behind the mobo is basically 4 screws and 4 nylon washers. The washers are small, about the size of the motherboard mounting holes (maybe 1mm larger in diameter?). There's a game. I would use the larger shims with the smaller shim. Combining the pros and cons this thing still gets 4 stars from me because with the Arctic F9-92 fan replacement I'm running the 3800 in a small ITX build that's quiet enough to walk alongside without exceptional noise cancellation sleep. I haven't set it to 100% for a long time (that's not what this build is for), but judging by the performance I'm happy.
